Mike Gallagher has spent his career inside the work of local government: thirty-one years at the Ohio Eighth District Court of Appeals and twenty-seven years in elected office across the same five communities.
He has lived in Strongsville for thirty-two years with his wife, Sandy. Their children, Alex and Sam, graduated from Strongsville schools. The family has belonged to St. John Neumann parish throughout those years.

Mike saw a gap in city programming for high school students, so he founded a commission that put young people inside the working life of their city. They raised roughly $30,000 over three years, ran their own committees, heard requests, and decided how the money would be spent.
Mike campaigned on two projects others called impossible. A recurring city commitment helped move Pearl Road forward, while the Ward 4 station opened in 2008 and became Strongsville’s main firehouse.
